Sunroof =Premium Pkg?
Silly equipment question. I am casually looking for a 128i Coupe to go with my Convertible - matched pairs are fun, no? Was the sunroof usually part of the Premium Pkg? My go-to quick tell is the lumbar support button on the seat, but some ads have lousy pictures.
And were there sunroof delete 128i's with the Premium Pkg? I have seen one 135i in my browsing that had it but no sunroof. I ordered my M235i that way, but I could not have done so on a 228i in 2016. I really need to find a 1-series with a sunroof to try on - my super long torso does NOT fit in a 2-series with one properly (and zero chance of wearing a helmet), but my feeling is that the 1-series has a LOT more headroom than the 2-series. But the last time I sat in a coupe was in about 2009. Any peanut gallery thoughts on sunroof headroom? Of course, Dear Dog are prices insane at the moment, hence "casually looking". The seeming fortune I paid for my 128i convertible 18 months ago is seeming VERY well-bought today. I'll jump for the perfect car in the right color scheme, but I'm in no hurry. I've put 11K miles on my car, now up to 57K, no issues, love it more every day, if not quite so much as my unicorn wagon.

Here is the 2012 BMW 1-series Pricing and Options List. It lists the moonroof for the 128i as part of the ZP2 Premium Package 2.
ZP2 Premium Package 2 - $3,400 (128i coupe) -- Universal garage door opener -- Moonroof -- Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors -- Auto dimming rearview mirror -- Power front seats with driver seat memory -- Lumbar support -- Interior mirror with compass -- Ambiance lighting -- Boston leather -- Light burl walnut trim, gray poplar wood trim, alpine white trim, or glacier silver aluminum trim The moonroof is also listed as a standalone option and pretty sure the car could be ordered that way without getting the Premium Package. https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=568221 Not sure about the 2008 - 2011 128i, but wouldn't doubt if it's the same. |

I believe the 08 128i came standard with a sunroof.
I havent looked at the Monrooney in years, but I am pretty sure my car has two options, silver paint and butt burners, and it has a sunroof. I think if one ordered the car, BMW then, like Mini today will let you delete the sunroof at no charge. |

Makes sense, and in line with how I recall the 3-series being when I ordered mine.
I have yet to see a 128i with the Premium Pkg but sans hole in the roof, so assuming as with the 228i, that was not a general option. Have come across a couple of 135i premium pkg slicktops though. But I do not have that much need for speed. Need to find one to try on, my suspicion is the presence of the roof won't be the problem it was in the 2-series due to the 1-series having delightfully old-skool greenhouse.

128's
2008 moonroof is "included" in MSRP, so likely all 128 2008's.
2009 again moonroof "included" in MSRP of $29,400. Premium pkg is $3700 and is: -digi compass mirror -auto dim mirrors [all 3] -power front seats -lumbar support -BMW assist The MSRP of my 128 was $25,550 [altho that's military sales] |
