I can clear most speed bumps, pot holes are rare around where I live so it's all good. I don't remember exactly how low they go. Somewhere around 2.2 rear and 2.5 front. The front still has 10 threads left!
Thanks for the feedback. I got a great deal on these 1290 installed by a local buddy who works at a shop. |

Difference between V1/2/3 is the level of dampening control.
My car is on V1s as well, but I didn't want to dump it as much as you; looks good nonetheless |

ok so in summary the V1 allows you to adjust height while the V2 adds the option to adjust how stiff the suspension is? forget about the V3, would never even consider it... |

I just had my KWs installed Thursday. And yes, they are pretty expensive. But I feel like folks don't really understand what coil overs do. It is not about lowering the car, honestly, you can do that by cutting coils off springs if you are going the cheap route. It is about control. Even KW V1s (which I have) offer a massive improvement in handling and suspension control over the stock or M Sport shocks and springs. They are very well made, and the ride quality is actually pretty amazing. Why BMW charges $40k for a car at doesn't include these, I don't know, but they are a much better option than auto A/C and Bluetooth! Mine were a little under $1300 plus... $769 installation. The install took five hours, and included height adjustment and alignment. I had the car lowered only about .25 inches, so much less than the above photo. But it looks and rides great.
I would say anyone who wants their car to feel very Porsche like, or is interested in great, high speed handling, should consider KWs. Lastly, on the so spring/shock usage... The stock shocks and springs are separate units. On the KWs, the front struts are integrated with the springs, which is one of the reasons they are adjustable. The back springs have adjustable perches. Because of this, you can't use stock springs, or any other companies springs. But why would you want to, as the shocks and springs are matched from a dampening standpoint. Today, I took my car on a ride rough some twisties, then a high speed superhighway on the way back. The car felt very composed and even sharp bumps are absorbed nicely. I can't say enough good things about this mod! I need to get some pics of my car up too. |

if you dropped over $2100 on V1's, why not spend only $300 more on the V2's? also, can you adjust height and/or dampening settings yourself on the spot or does it require going to a mechanic? |
