The M2 needs to go to Jenny Craig..it looks out of shape to me. Maybe the M2 GTS/CSL diet with manual only will help.

Sorry, not my kind of car.

If my 1M didn't have the worst Nav system ever put into a car, it would be perfect. I'm going to 3D print a clip to hold my phone in front of the display.

Anyone know what it would take to remove the display and iDrive from a car that has it installed?
It was 2004 X5 4.8is Nav that cured me of all factory Nav. My 1M always finds best route with iphone!

For your consideration:
- Brodit does an OK clip that holds any phone in front of the E8x aircon outlets (use this myself in a no-NAV E8x). I agree that in front of the NAV screen would be slightly better:

- With a NAV dashboard, I'd try if this OEM tray for holding a phone possibly fits the dashboard cut out for the OEM NAV screen (officially it fits the storage compartment cut-out)

I thought the 1M looked wide from the front but can't believe how much wider the M2 looks in this pic.

As an autocrosser, I don't actually think that WIDER is better... I need to get that fanny betwixt the cones in a slalom.

Love the photos of both side by side.
Jealous of
1M Tex Who will have this same color combo of both in his garage

The car handled really, felt more nimble than the M4 with the lighter weight and certainly not as scary as the 1M. I pushed hard (with just sport mode, we weren't allowed full DSC off) and it turned in nicely without feeling it was going to step out. As an everyday drive, occasional spirited run and track days, I think the M2 ticks a lot of boxes for people like us who like to drive. In short, it is the newer 1M coupe that got more refined.

It is better no doubt in a lot of ways but it won't give you the same thrill as the 1M, IMHO of course. It's kinda like you've grown up now and dating a more steady, marriage material girl but you will miss the other wild one you dated before.
I guess that explains why I divorced the marriage material .. I like the wild ones !

Love your comments on the turbo lag and DCT along with EPS.. it sounds like all three are improving with each iteration..

the way BMW talks up their systems the M Diff is also being continually improved...

Will be interesting to see what happens when get some reviews where the DSC gets turned off..

thanks for the gorgeous photos... congratulations.. what an experience!

That 1M Coupe still looks very good IMHO: still a classic design.

Also, the M2 too is looking real good: now let's see how it will hold it future "classic" look.

You can always do what I did:

I didn't show it on the pic where my phone is mirrored to the nav screen but I use SmartView primarily to display the Waze nav app on my smart phone.

Awesome pics! I think the 1M is such a hotter looking car!
