Code P2808

First of all, I did use the search function, no results.

So the service engine soon light came on today. I checked the code when I got home and it was P2808 - pressure control solenoid "G" performance/stuck off.

Any ideas? I tried the Google on my phone but couldn't really find anything useful.

Anyone? Recently went without cat but I can't find anything that suggest this is related. Solenoid "g" leads me to believe it may be dct related? I'm ready to start putting the car back to stock (jb4, downpipe) and take her in to the dealership and let them take care of it.

Well, no one responded, so the light went away. Must have just been a minor computer error.

I don't think anyone is replying because nobody has any idea. I would guess it's transmission related. Sounds like it may be the pressure control solenoid which your transmission has.

From the research I did, the pressure control solenoids are used to hydraulically change gears in the DCT. I took it in to the dealer and my SA said it must be a "ghost code" because my service light was on also. I've never heard of said ghost codes but not saying they don't exist.

At least it will be on the service ticket in case my DCT takes a crap later I have some record of it.

Didn't really ever cause any real issues I don't think. Although now, I think my temp sensor in the DCT is faulting, the car will sometimes throw a trans overheat warning. I don't have any reason the two are related though.

Nope, nothing on the pressure control sensor issue.

Regarding the temp sensor and overheating issue though, I think the cause/fix is this thing: http://www.munichpower.co.uk/bmw-and...rature-sensor/

First, thanks for actually replying.
So, you took it to the dealer and they just cleared the codes and it never came back? Weird.

I, knock on wood, don't have any overheating issues...

That one time it came up, cleared. Ever since then, I don't remember if I've seen it or not, but if I have I've definitely ignored the code. I do wonder if it all ties back to that multi-sensor failing though, or possibly some other un-related electrical fault or short.
