N55: Are inlet/outlet worth it on a stock turbo?

I've read a bunch of threads, mostly older ones, and the general consensus seems to be that on a stock turbo N55, at least the inlet is not worth the upgrade, no mention of the outlet. Is this still true?

I'm swapping to a cat-less DP over the winter, so if it's worth it and since I'll be in the area anyway, I could swap those as well. Just don't want to spend the money for no ROI.

Yes it's worth it when running e85 to push the turbo to the absolute limits. And plus less restriction is better for the turbo itself. WGDC will decrease. And the inlet/outlet prevent boost from tapering off as much up top.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I don't have access to E85 but occasionally run 100 octane unleaded gas. Mostly I use 92.

Since you have a JB4, do you have logs to back these statements or is it just theory?

I personally don't, as my car doesn't have them installed (yet). But my buddies car has both and it responds way different than before and his logs showed it decrease in the midrange enough for me to get them. Look up some of the dynos of the pure inlet and you'll see it makes a pretty big difference.
