MT or AT

Looking at CarGurus.com as part of my search for an MT 128, I'm depressed to see that of 115 available nationwide only 6 (six!) are MT . Just sayin'.

Tell me about it "But it can be shifted if you move that handle over. That's manual."

And conversely, once in a while, the opposite is true. Have to look at the pictures.

Haven't seen a lot of that, but good point. My first visual check is looking at the window trim. Chrome == 99% not a Sport / M-Sport -> not interested. Not to kick off a whole discussion about that, just my decision that I don't want to have to deal with suspension and, most importantly, seats right off the bat.

Most of us with 6MT and sport/M sport pkg do not want to sell. A non sport model: 1. most will need a suspension refresh now, 2. chrome window trim can be wrapped, 3. I believe most/all E9x sport seats will fit into E82's.

Another joy is that the VIN checkers will also tell you it's auto when it's manual and vice versa. Gotta see those 3 pedals.

Indeed. I find myself exhausting my daily free allotment on mdecoder.com some days. Turns out it's not only by IP, so I can usually just switch between laptop and tablet

True, but it's surprising how many people say they have cars with manual shifting transmission. When really they are tiptronic!
