1 series model code

Hey guys,

silly question here bc I'm a tad confused. I have a 2008 125i coupe, I know that the BMW coupe model code is E82 but my particular BMW is stamped on the compliance plate as a E87. Im from Australia if that makes any difference.

Any help is appreciated !!

Covered somewhere else before. Yes this is normal.
Mine is the same but I have an Aussie E88.

oh okay, awesome thanks. I just was a bit confused is all, bc all I've known with these models is that the coupe is the E82, hatch and convertible being the E87 and E88.
