Loose engine cover on the N55

So i was looking around the engine bay and i touched the engine cover and it just came up without any resistance. I thought it might be out of place but i only saw 2 tabs on it. I messed with it for a while but its still loose especially on the right side. Anyone else notice this?? It the cover with the BMW emblem on it.

Most engine covers sit on some sort of rubber gromet. Maybe yours came loose durring your last dealer visit?

PS: I tried looking on RealOEM.com but I could not even find that engine cover(twin scroll) platic pannel/cover.

Yeah i guess after my hpfp visit it came loose, I put a little pressure towards the front and it finally snapped in place. It has 2 foam helmet like things that go over some small hubs that snap into place. Its all good now i knew it was impossible for that to be so loose.

Nice Ride! My question is: what is the best way to remove this engine cover wthout damaging it?

Based on the way it snaps into place, I would think with a gentle tug upwards should do it. Remember its plastic so be gentle.

Engine cover

I see these are old threads, but I am also embarrassed to say that I am having the same problem as original poster!
My engine cover (2012 135i with N55) is being very difficult and i don't want to break it. The back of the cover comes out of the two tabs, but the front will not lift up. Do I just need more force, or is there a secret?

More force, they "snap" into little rubberized bulbs. Here's what they look like:
