Best Angel Eye Bulbs for Matching LCI Eyebrow LED
Hey guys,
I searched around and discovered that 5000k seems to be the best colour temp for matching the angel eyes to the LED strip. The thread ended with LUX V3 being the best option. Seeing as LUX V3 is no longer in production and V4/5 has trouble fitting in our headlights due to the oversized ballast I'm looking for other suggestions (Been there, done that with V4. Sold after getting constant ADH errors from the motor jamming when the headlight tried to turn left/right but the ballast was in the way. This could just be me, others have been able to get them to work) I picked up some LCI Xenon/ADH headlights to replace my pre-LCI Xenon/ADH headlights and would like the angels to match as closely as possible (pics below for reference) Currently I'm looking at Mtec's (4750k/7000k), Top Gear Solutions HPBs (80W or 160W, 6000k), or even some 5000k or 6000k halogens and coding the output higher. From those of you with LCI xenons, please share your recommendations. Thanks in advance!

We have actually sold tons of sets of our LUX H8 V5 angel eyes to uses with 1-series cars and have not had any issues with them. Since they are adjustable color you can set them to a 5000K which will match the eyebrow nearly perfect, or you can choose a cooler color to accent it. all of our lights come with a 1-year warranty and if you run into any issues with installing them i can assist or you can also return them for a full refund.

We also have V2 which are double the wattage with a fan built inside for better cooling ( but no pics on a 1 series yet ) V1 pictures:

I did find several threads illustrating where to place the ballast to avoid the errors, but for the life of me I could not get it to fit correctly. After looking at the LCI headlights when they arrived (with the units out of a vehicle) I can see a few spots where they would likely fit. Regardless I found the ballasts to be too large for my liking and given how difficult the passenger side headlight cover is to re-install correctly I gave up after the 7th try, and several bloody and bruised fingers lol. Now, with that said I was very impressed with the LUX V4 build quality, flexibility (color changing) and absolutely loved how they looked. Like I said though I just got frustrated with how small the 1er headlights are, and ended up selling the product to a buddy with a 3 series. In hindsight I should have contacted you regarding installation, it slipped my mind. Regardless I would prefer to stick to a system with a smaller ballast similar in size to the V3's as I know these will go in smoothly the first time round. I'm fed up with that passenger side headlight cover haha.

No these will not flicker on start-up and as well there are no codes with them. Since we design all of our products we have put a lot of time into the design of these to make sure this would not happen.

thanks for the support guys, our DTECS fit "perfectly" inside the headlight housing, no cutting, no modifying, no drilling, 100% plug and play which is how it should be designed from the ground up, extremely user friendly

Good to know. The power supply nearly identical to the size as others out there as well so once its installed it shouldn't be an issue at all

Oh, ha ha. Not sure the size of the others but ours are 2.2 x 1 x 1.25 inches in size so they are really not large. The older V3 power supplies were early identical at 2 x 1 x 0.75 inches

I'm still looking into a few but I'm planning on purchasing some of the HPB 160W bulbs from Top Gear Solutions. I'm not in a rush since my vehicle won't be out of storage until early May so I will be unable to actually test them/post results until then.
