I also got to hop on the skid pad a few times (possibly the highlight of my day, it was SO much fun). Still rocking the open diff, but it worked fine with the minimal traction available. Tomorrow, I should be able to start going fast (it'll finally be dry, and most people will have learned the track)...

Had an interesting thing happen to my brakes today...my outer bleed screw on the front passenger side caliper came a bit loose, and I started losing brake fluid, and brake pressure (the pedal didn't ever stop moving). Not a great feeling. Luckily, my instructor had an 11mm wrench to snug it down to finish the day. Took it home tonight and bled that caliper, but there was no air in the line.

Since I got home so early, I got the finishing touches done on the LSD build. Both output flanges are in, the backlash is set (to PERFECTION!), and I checked the mesh of the gears (marking compound is like anti-seize, it gets frickin' everywhere). All I have to do now is put on the sealant, put the cover on, fill it up, and bolt it onto the car. It's going to be an absolute beast with the 3.73 ratio, and will finally be able to get every bit of power to the ground.

Awesome! I hit Shenny once in 2012 and it was a good time. Did you run through the carousel? When I went we turned at the bus stop because of runoff concerns. I am jealous about the LSD!

Yeah! The Karussel was so much fun, and probably the easiest corner on the track.

I am doing the yellow, actually ordering tomorrow. I'm very excited for it as I'm not really a fan of black cars lol but I only wanted a black 135 because I knew I was going to be wrapping it multiple times. For someone who gets bored of a color quickly like me, keeping the jambs and bay black is helpful. I think I'm most excited to light paint the yellow as I love that style of photos of cars. Here's a couple pictures he had done of my Jetta at his previous job
Looks very good! I hadn't thought of the bay/jambs being black, but that's a great point. It would look odd if you had two different colors visible when you opened the door (one from the wrap and one from the paint).

I really want to get a decent shot of my 1er soon, but I've been spending time trying to get it running right and now doing the suspension. I did get a chance recently to shoot my father-in-law's C6 Vette a few weeks ago. This shot is about 10 exposures with a handheld flash.

And my first attempt at shooting a car at night was my 1er right after I bought a flash. It didn't turn out great lol

Those are great. I love shots like that. You can really make a presentation of your subject with light painting and composite shots. I've never been great at it but I gave it a shot myself on my buddy's car while down in Georgia for Southern Worthersee
I love light painting!

Exterior shots in a new development area. It was dark at about 9pm but the moon was full. But the lighting came from his led bar. I might have a pic or two while he was doing let me find them.

Edit: no pics, this is a screenshot of one of the videos.

That is extremely well done and even light painting. I honestly thought it was in a large studio like this. Tell your guy well done!

Will tell him! He is very talented great guy. We tried to find an empty warehouse to do it since he had a vision of how he wanted the shot and it required a cement floor to wet it.

But lacking the place he improvised and pulled that off. Printed a 2x3 of it and have it in my office. Came out super nice.

Looking good BAN_M2!

Can't wait to see what you do when your new M2 Competition comes in...

What color, anyway?

Thanks Esteban !

I can't wait! So eager to have October come by already!

I am completely torn between Long Beach Blue (which I love) and the Hockenheim Silver.

I know LBB won't disappoint since I love it so much. Lately many of the new HS pics and videos have me pulled towards it.

I have switched between both colors the same amount of times I switched on my M2 between LBB and Alpine White!

I still have until September to switch it on the build sheet.

Have to say, I love LBB, but I am always partial to blues.

The silver will look good as well.

Must be a difficult wait, but you've got your little 1er to see you through, and I think you have one of the nicest 1ers here on the forum.

That's the other thing, coming from blue a fresh change isn't bad!

The wait is part of the excitement also, went thru it with the M2. This one having ED will be even more exciting!

The 1er is so much fun and I still drove it so much while having the M2 that it keeps me entertained! I love this car also.

Thanks for the props on mine I appreciate it. I wanted to keep it simple and I had a lot of help from 1addicts just reading so much good info. It also helped that the shop who worked on it two of the guys there also have owned 1 series!

Yeah, just try to make sure the change is the one you really want and it's not just for a change as we assume you'll be keeping this one for a while.

Definitely.. truly in my eyes I can't go wrong with any color although everyone has their own opinions.

I would go with white, black silver or blue. Even the Sunset Orange still looks good although not as flashy as other oranges from BMW.

Color is a big deal to me. I've settled on colors before and have regretted it.

Never special ordered a car so that would alleviate that problem for me.

Feel very lucky to have found my LeMans Blue 1er on the lot (fresh off the truck) with just the options I wanted.

Absolutely love this color!

If I was to order the car, this would be exactly how I would've ordered it.

PS - I have some regret not getting iDrive though, just for the bimmer-tech backup camera. There are others, but the bimmer-tech one is as close to factory as you can get on the 1er. At least so far...

Buying used I can compromise.

1er came with no iDrive and manual seats. But I still liked the color combo and the fact it had active steering and was N55.

Brand new ordering I put a lot of thought into it, and spec to my liking with no regrets! I know I will Love in either LBB or HS.

My first 1er had the same color combo as yours. Loved it, especially the Coral Red. That one was an '08 with the Steptronic transmission. The Steptronic was great but HAD to have the DCT when it came out. 8 years later and no regrets (except maybe no iDrive). lol

How long have you had a 1 series in your life?

I haven't had it for a year yet but can see myself driving it until I put into the ground

Hope to have this one for a very long time.

Coded out the annoying and silly idrive legal disclaimer with NCSExpert.

Another wonderful day at Summit Point! I can't believe the difference these tires have made (going from Kumho Ecsta PS31 to Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, and upsizing from 225's to 245's), it just grips and goes, and it's wonderful. I was among the faster cars out there, and was FINALLY able to hold off (until I goofed-up a turn) my dad, and passed a 911, a ZL1, a few Miatas, and a Mustang or two.

I must say, the amount of skid pad time I was able to get in this weekend was a huge help and really helped me feel out how the car was behaving in the corners, and helped me refine my line to suit my car. I'm also finding that the car is VERY balanced (especially compared to stock, which was an understeering mess of a coupe), and has some really good tendencies. It absorbs mid-corner bumps excellently, has strong turn-in and fantastic grip throughout the corner, has enough torque to pull you out of slow corners (even in 3rd, going about 20mph), and it just feels right to me; I'm really falling in love with the chassis, and how the car behaves now (the tires changed a lot), and I'm really interested to see how this soon-to-be-installed (THIS WEEK!!! ) LSD is going to tie it together...

I'm in love. Again.

BTW, Shenandoah is an awesome track, and this was BY FAR the most fun I've ever had at a track weekend...

EDIT: This week, I'll be finishing up this LSD business and installing that gorgeous 100lb paperweight, and I'll get the oil changed since I broke 175k miles today... This thing just keeps trucking, and it hasn't ever skipped a beat.
