Powerhaus Performance dyno results | Active Autowerke tuned 128i
Hi all, so the opportunity finally came to dyno my car. Member @smellyborrelli set up a dyno day at Performance Powerhaus in NJ and the turnout was great! Lots of cars, lots of fun. More info, graphs, videos up in this thread on e90: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1061168
My results: It's a 2008 128i w/6spd and N51 engine which already has the 3 stage manifold on it stock. Mods include the charcoal filter delete and the Active Autowerke tune. Tune was installed before I bought it so I don't know how much faster it feels compared to a stock car. On a mustang dyno it did 220whp and 207wtq. Unexpected numbers, but this car has always had a lot of torque and felt very quick at the top end . . . and here I was convinced it only made 230-240 at the crank Nice linear power up to peak at ~6600 rpms. Notice the manifold changeover at ~4300 Dyno graphs: Last edited by chris82; 11-25-2014 at 03:24 PM.. |

To put those numbers in comparison. My stock engined 135 put down 245whp/255wtq on the same dyno a few hours before.
You're doing pretty well for yourself! |

Really impressive for just having a tune as your main power mod. I kind of want to get my stock 128i N51 car on the dyno to see what it is base. I'm guessing you never got your car dyno'ed without the tune?
Edit: @Chrisar82: Any idea if the AA tune on your car was dyno tuned or an off the shelf tune?

As for the tune, not sure. But VAC originally had plans to race this car, so I doubt it's an off the shelf tune Last edited by chris82; 11-26-2014 at 08:33 AM.. |

Shrug. No way to know either way. All we do know is that it is lower compression.
