steering column noise
Hi Guys,
I just picked up a '13 128 M-sport and am enjoying it quite a bit. I do have one question, I am hearing a sound coming from the steering column when I move the wheel ever so slightly, only when the car is in motion, I might add, that sounds like a marble rolling from side to side. It's not continuous and only does it when a quarter turn or more is made and only at lower speeds. Curious if it's the steering joint assembly. I've never experienced anything like this before. The car has 78k on it and is pristine otherwise. Any ideas? The sounds comes from the steering column, not the strut towers. |

Also, I might add that I am unable to lock the steering wheel like in older BMW models. Is this unique to E82/E90 and other BMW models 2006+? I've only owned E30s and E46s before and you lock the steering wheel when the car is off and the key out by turning the wheel until locked.
