FWIW, I just had my third or fourth go around with this car. This time they required star. I've passed every time, and the last couple times at least have been with FMIC, CP, and MHD. I just put the stock airbox on and check readiness codes before I go in.

That's interesting, I coded my own m3 cluster and few others, and never ran across that issue. It could have thrown an error maybe because the chip wasn't properly reprogrammed?? But if that was the case, then your mileage would be all messed up!

For anyone going for referee inspection they will use a telescoping mirror to visually molest your engine bay. The key here is going in stock also O2 readiness can't be disabled (immediate fail). Been there and done it. One tip is you can call in the morning for cancelled appointments and they do happen but its shooting in the dark.
