Wheel width questions

Hey guys,

I've been looking around for a new set of wheels for a while and am constantly overwhelmed about every spec I have to get right. As I understand it, my 128i Sport pkg. has 7"-wide front wheels and 7.5"-wide rears. My tires are the stock size, 205/50 front 225/45 rear, 17". I'm considering the offset of all the wheels I've looked at, but how much does that half-inch matter when it comes to the width? If I kept my tires, would I be able to mount 7.5" wheels all around? Or even 8-inchers? Or would I have to stick with the staggered width? I don't want my tires to look stretched, I'm just not sure how much that half-inch would affect the mounting of my tires, or if I could get away with mounting 8" wheels all around as well.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly 135i wheels should fit on there, 8" front 8.5" back with a 225/255. That's what I run

I'm not looking to fit an entirely new setup under my car, I want to keep the 205/225 Contis I just bought.

Just go here: https://www.willtheyfit.com/ Put in your specs and look at the diagram on the left. That will show you how your tires will look on whatever wheel size you want.

Just a suggestion but you are in the 1M forum which is completely different in wheel widths, tires sizes and offsets. Also there were few 1Ms made compared to 1s so you really would get a lot more hits on the 1 series forum. Best of luck!
