Did my 5th autocross yesterday and here are the raw time results of my efforts. I doubt the 135 will stay in D Stock next season.

Mike, What's your raw time? Are your courses really around 45 seconds, and how may runs do you normally get?
Curious, because we have courses about double that length on the airfield. If you are on a 45 sec course, I would assume it's a parking lot. |

Those were raw times. This is one of the smallest venues we have, usually we do 1 minute courses. We usually get 6 runs, yesterday it was 7. The venue is a very small airport asphalt ramp parking area.

I think I feel better now. You guys may not be included in regions that the PAX index is pulled from.
However I am (Chicago Region) and I assure you I will do a great job of dragging us down in classing. Intentionally of course  You all can thank me next year when we are in HS LOL 2008 PAX/RTP Index "Racers Theoretical Performance" This Index was developed by Rick Ruth and reflects study of results from over 200 nationwide Solo events including, the Tire Rack® Solo National Championships, National Tour, Chicago Region, California Sports Car Club, Great American Solo Series, Houston Region, Midwest Divisional Series, Milwaukee Region, New England Region, Northwest Region, Northern New Jersey Region, Oregon Region, Philadelphia Region, Southeast Divisional Series, San Francisco Region, San Diego Region, South Jersey Region, St. Louis Region, Tri-State Sports Car Council, Texas Region, Wisconsin Autocrossers Inc., and several others. <---- uh oh!??! |

It's rare that the SCCA Solo Executive Board (SEB) will change a new model car's class during its first full season. So that said, it'll probably be the 2009 season before they consider a more competitive class for the 1-Series.

First off, congrats on the win! And when do you plan on bumping up to the r-comps?
I'm definitely following the progress of the 135 in DS this year. If the car proves to be competitive at the National level, then it's at the top of my list for next season. Unfortunately (and no offense), but the performance of the car in an a "Street Tire" type local class will do nothing to sway the SEB's decision on where to class the car. Until the car has been prepped to the extent of the rules with a National level driver behind the wheel against other top level competition, we won't know what the car's true potential is. And on that note, Steve Snow (owner of Bimmerworks in West Chester, PA) is currently prepping his 135 for DS. His first outing with only tires was very promising, with a raw time good enough to take PAX at a Philly region event, except for a pesky cone. He ran the car yesterday with some Koni DA's and an alignment (at least was supposed to install that stuff before yesterday), but I was running with DC and not certain of the day's outcome. But speaking of running at the National level, Steve will be running in the D.C. Pro in a few weeks, which should be a great test for the car's capability and competitiveness. Steve finished 6th in GS at Nats last year (0.7s out of 1st). So yeah, he's fast. Hopefully there's some promise here because I really want a good reason to buy one. BTW, sorry for the long first post.

I am willing to bet we stay DS next year too - from what I read SEB was wanting to shake the class up a bit .....
