I wouldn't like it under my drivers seat incase for some reason you knock a latch and it rolls under your pedals.

I think CAMS stipulate under the drivers seat, reason being so that you can reach it whilst strapped into a harness. For a road car I'd use the passenger side cause they can come lose getting in/out many times.

Do the seats pull forward over these fire extinguishers because they look pretty average. Also tempted to put it on the drivers side but that's where my pluggers go when I'm driving

I think they mount to the seat and move with it.

Make sure the extinguisher is Class ABE (usually dry powder) to cover your car fabric, fuel and electrical type fires.

I've always had mine under the passenger side as I'm concerned about it coming loose, as well as it being a serious missile in the footwell in a crash.

Chubb/Quell offers automotive extinguishers locally with a locking strap harness that is in line with CAMS regulations for racing.
