1M Imposter Located in Frankfurt am Main
I don't frequent the lower echelons of bimmerpost.com very often but thought you of guys as soon as I saw this!
Found this 1M imposter in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in the heart of downtown at the Nespresso Café. Do people routinely do this for 128 or 135i's? Cheers! |

I'm not a huge fan of the color but that's just personal preference. Someone spent a lot of money and did a very impressive job of creating what BMW never did. Well done!

I wouldn't call him imposter. He never put a 1M badge on it.

If the driver is happy about the way he modded his 1er, then who are we to rain on his parade ? To each his own, no ?

What about the Autobahn? I still dream about the few times I've been fortunate enough to drive on it!

Did you take these photos? This looks to me like Dusseldorf (Düsseldorf) not Frankfurt. Just look at the tags of the cars on the street. Anyways... I don't see anything wrong with this look. Its not my style, but to each his own.

I see that "look" all the time in Munich. Many people (men and women) wear scarfs (or a sweater) in hot weather.

1M design details win people, especially among the BMW community over time obviously. Not many people talk like how ugly it is etc. anymore (remember first reactions back then?). Other BMW owners modding their cars to have a partial or overall 1M look and also newer BMW models or other brand models appearing with certain 1M-like details (or VO color) is NOT a bad thing at all imo, it is just their way of admiring a special M model, an appreciation of a car which was limited first and out of production now.
A new coleague and his family was invited for a dinner a week ago and when they were leaving I escorted them down to condo's parking place where they saw my cars too; their 12 year old boy immediately recognized the 1M and said "I am riding in this time to time" meaning the computer game |
