I'm not familiar with wraps, what kinda maintenance is required? How long do they usually last?
Also, I've heard from my autoX buddies that if you hit a cone on the wrap, coz it's plastic on plastic, the scuff my will not come off, is that true?

I really dig the matte black look, very nice job.

Probably... but only difference between this and paint is you can buff it out of paint. And even in that case you don't want to keep buffing imperfections out (and totally waste your clear coat).

This stuff actually acts like a clear bra and protects the paint underneath.

A few months back, Lyle was telling me about something called "overlaminates" (sp?). It's like a clear bra, for your vinyl wrapped pieces and it protects the vinyl itself. I didn't get this stuff on my roof and mirrors because it wasn't available back then but after a few months of driving I can confidently say the satin black vinyl looks as good as the day it was installed!

Dude, you and me are on exactly the same page. I wanted to get my car wrapped in a matte gray... but more along these lines:

So how much would it be for vinyl side numbers and a hoodstripe like this? Thinking about a nice color to offset SGM, mabe a dark red? Black is just too boring you know?

I think it will probably depend how complicated the design will be... but I'm confident you'd still pay less for a custom job like this than you would for a pre-cut kit (that you would have to DIY).

You should just call Lyle and show him a pic of what you and he'll be able to work out a price for you that's more than fair
