Can you help identify this squeek?
Was chirping before. Just replaced the oil filter housing gasket. Squeek seems to have gotten worse. Can't tell if it's a belt/pulley or in the engine.
Oil dripped on the belts and I used engine cleaner around them. Thinking the belts/pulley need replacing. |

Sounds like a pulley to me. Get a kit that includes a belt. If you can do the OFHG you won't have much trouble with this one. Just be sure to document your belt routing so you know the new one's in the right place.

My n55 did this last year. Same exact noise. I couldn't find any leak from OFHG, but replacing the belt and pulley's fixed the noise. So far only a small squeak has come back and i think its the main pulley / balancer which is a bigger pain to replace.
