I know there isn't a ton of these out there so I just wanted to post mine. Very clean and easy to lay the vinyl. The purchase came with two sets of them, which is nice.

Front fender vent overlay tape.

Well, finally! I had a body shop do this for my first 1M back in 2011. Since then, I have owned three, (currently own two) and have manually applied the black flat overlay myself, albeit not as good a job as the body shop. The overlay makes the fenders pop to a great degree and looks super.

Link to purchase?

Totally agree! They really accentuate the wideness of the fenders from this angle. Here's the link

The 'fake' vent in the rear annoys me already. I couldn't do this decal it just adds another fake looking vent.

But the taped front "vents" look awesome. Really nice looking.

Thanks for the link.

What were the instructions for applying? Was it hard? I ordered sheets of the vinyl in flat black and it was difficult to get them aligned straight so they look real.

We measured and taped off the edges of where we wanted to lay the vinyl down. I didn't even look if it came with instructions. They just have two sets of the overlays on a sheet of contact paper

1M front fender vent overlays

For all you 1M'ers out there, the cosmetic improvement of adding these vent overlays is outstanding. Follow the conversation, as I had done this to my first 1M (had a body shop apply the tape), and it absolutely looks like a real vent. Since then, the shop went out of business and thanks to an astute shopper, we have found a source for pre-cut, pre-measured overlays.

Cost is Euro 20 per set, plus shipping (Germany) and the company is super friendly. Obviously the overlays are for VO and W cars.

In keeping with my tainted OEM stance, light cosmetic additions are all I consider, and these overlays, along with a CF spoiler, and maybe black front grills are it.

After they arrive, I'll post pics!

What is the OEM part number for the CF Spoiler?

(51-71-0-432-165) ???

Sorry, I don't recall. Back in 2011, an enterprising Forum member ordered a number of the OEM CF spoilers with color matched pin-stipes. Beautiful.

Are you still out there?

Both of the fender overlay sets I ordered came in. They look great. Will apply this weekend.

The 1M of mine with current overlays was done by me, by hand. I ordered flat black vinyl and used cutting string after applying. Ok job, but the ones from the company in Germany are cut perfect, straight and true.

I'll post pics afterward.

Wonder if these have been done on a black car. Wonder if it's at all noticeable.

Ok - I must be missing something - I went to the link listed in this thread - selected "click here to order" and filled out my information - hit submit and it replies thank you for your order. It never asked me to pay? However it clearly says they are 25 Euros + VAT. I am in the USA but figured it would account for that. I did not see a USA Flag button?

What am I missing - can I order these - I doubt they will send them to me without me paying.

They will send you an email with payment instructions. Mine came in and look great. White shows best, VO next. Forget it on black.

Has anyone done a good DIY of this? Was considering using some blue painters tape, tracing an outline, and then creating a template to cut on vinyl.
