DMTL Issue
I was driving my 1m for the first time in about 8 months when the SES came on. Car threw a code for P1449. From what I can tell on other threads, this is normally the DMTL. I went to the BMW dealer to buy the part, and my service manager told me to reset it first and see if it comes back. I found it odd that he wasn't trying to sell me anything. So I did that, and replaced the gas cap (just for good measure, and I did get gas last night), and now the SES is gone. What does the DMTL measure? I searched the 1M threads and it doesnt appear anyone else has had this come up.

So I was able to acquire the part cheap and replaced the DMTL pump myself. Here is what I find out, the clip in the center of the picture (which by the way is a complete PAIN to get off and on) had gas IN IT when I removed it from the old pump. It strikes me as weird that there would be any gas in that connection. The other hoses had a few drops which make sense - but not an electrical connection. Thoughts?
