I sort of went over OTT in my earlier remark. What I mean is I don't like black for 1M and as it goes, most BMWs too.

To me (and that is personal taste) the car is lacking contrast both in orange and in white. Something like a black roof or a cf roof. But then you run into the next problem... front and rear windows on the 1 are not the same width. So if you have the roof foiled, it looks slightly "off". It won't work on the 1 as it does on the M3. And that's why mine will be black.

Looks awesome in black. I think it can look a bit over-styled in brighter colours but in black with the light playing of all the surfaces it looks excellent.

What he means is , the lack of either a s/r or CF roof makes the car look to bland/bare/empty on the top. One is used to seeing these cars (1 series) with a sunroof, which contrasts the color and adds character to the design of the car. It just seems a bit odd when the latest/last edition doesn't offer a simple option like a sunroof, since we understand the complications and expense if BMW where to put a CF roof on the car (crash tests).

I think Black cars look fantastic after a good wash and polish for about 1 hour. Then the dust starts to show, over and over again!

Black cars are very hot to drive around in the summer. The paint is the most pron to sun damage of any color out there.

They show every single tiny imperfection in the cars body and paint, every ding, scratch, ripple etc.

White cars are the lowest maintenance color there is. Yet look very classy in all light conditions.

The VO is driving me crazy, one photo I love it, the next I hate it. So far I see bright Orange, Red, Copper, Metallic Yellow/Orange and dull Orange depending on the surrounding light. What does this car look like in person???

I hope I don't have to place my order say next week because I don't know what color I would order at this time.

IMO 1M black cars will be the overall rare color in the end.

Can't you change your choice within a few days after you placed your order? I've placed my order now (with VO), but I still have about 2 weeks time for my final color choice. So, I could change to BSM if I want to.
