While we wait... Anyone interested in watches?

After searching and waiting for a production number, to finally get one I was so excited that the wait until late October seemed like a non issue...

This wait is killing me as I'm sure it is for many of you as well.
So to pass the time... Is anyone into watches?

What are you gentlemen sporting out there?
Any recommendations? Companies?
Ridiculous watches, classic pieces, how old?
Lets hear about your timepieces

I like watches

I bought myself a Tag Heuer Monaco a few months ago which I guess technically is a classic watch

I like it because of it's motoring heritage and also for it's unique design

Ah, watches . . . the other obsession.

I have an old IWC Mk XII that I'm very fond of. This is my lastest, a (pre-Tag) Heuer Carrera, the 1964 re-edition :

And this was my wife's 40th birthday present. It's a reverso duo, with a night time face on the other side. Not sure how she ended up with a better watch than me?

The problem with watches is they make time go slower and the wait seem longer.

wow this is such a coincidence lol. Im picking up my first 2 watches this thursday. Im starting a collection. Including my 1M deposits + the watches I'm buying, I'm so broke this month lol. But the good thing is a friend of mine is a diamond dealer and he got me my watches for AD cost price.

Im buying these two watches this thursday.

Also i would recommend IWC, JLC, Omega, Cartier (some watches), Panerai & Zenith in the mid-range budget ($5k-$20k). IMHO get something with a in house movement.

Also IMHO stay away from Rado, Movado, & Tag. Too played out and not worth the price IMO.

Omega Speedmaster Professional is a great "starter" watch!

$6k is not a 'starter watch'.

I like mechanical watches.
Among them, I like Sinn Model 856 the best.

It's not on their website anymore but the face is same as this.
http://www.sinn.de/en/Modell/856_S_UTC.htm

I found the same picture on the Internet.

I definately do not own one, but amazing craftsmanship. The watch catalog is a 160+ page hardcover book.

Agree to disagree? Lol. It's a great watch, but IMO it's a little to played out and I deem it a "starter" watch, which there is nothing wrong with. Also price is relative. There are people whose first watch is a Patek.

I used to have a watch fetish, but then I got a cell phone. Now, watches are almost purely decoration for me and so I spend very little on them. I do, however, still appreciate the fine craftsmanship of a sweet timepiece! My dream watch would have to be the Tag Monaco V4...pure sex as far as watches go!!
