Do NOT EVER! install a brass pin
I replaced this clutch 14 months ago. 2 weeks ago I wasnt able to get into 1st gear and rear, slowly that got worst. They bled and bled and replaced slave cylinder. Finally it got really bad, so I had them pull the tranny and this is what the results were. That brass fucking pin was the culprit.

OP, I had the same problem! Installed a brass pin since I was in there doing the clutch... Pulled the transmission about 10k miles later due to a bad 2nd gear synchro and the brass pin had been worn down. Inside of the transmission was gold colored lol
Stock plastic went back in. I guess the plastic produces less friction against the metal clutch fork or something. Not sure why the brass pin comes so highly recommended because there was 0 need for it and it wore down worse than any stock plastic pin ever has. It's just another useless up-sell. Interesting. I installed one of these when I switched to a Spec Stage 2+ about a year and a half ago. I'm pretty easy on my transmission, but haven't had any issues so far. If I have any problems, I'll certainly look there first. I remember reading good things about this piece when I was doing research--I wonder why?
