Who's holding out for the 2009s?
Like the title says, who's trying to hold out for the 2009 model year 135i?
What are your reasons? When is the right time to place an order for the new model year? |

who wants that pesky "Year One of 1" etched into the Start/Stop button.
The best rates will come around the end of July, if BMW is in step historically with what they have done in the past |

Do you think we will be able to upgrade to connect drive in an '08?

I have read that ConnectDrive will only be available in Europe.
Nevermind, it is available in US: BMW Adds MyInfo Service Using Google Maps By David Gluckman A new feature will allow BMW drivers to send destination information to their cars from a computer. Already available in Europe and Canada, BMW will offer its MyInfo service to U.S. customers starting with the 2008 X6. Owners can use the Google Maps interface to find a destination and then transmit the address and an associated phone number to their BMW. Once the driver has used the Send function on the Web site, the information will appear in the MyInfo menu. This new feature allows planning for a trip from home and should also be a welcome alternative to imputing destinations via iDrive. Vehicles equipped with Bluetooth hands free can also use the system to call a destination. MyInfo can store up to ten destinations at a time. The service requires BMW Assist. The 2008 X6 will arrive at dealers in late summer. For 2009, BMW will expand the MyInfo service to most of its lineup, including X5, X6, and 1-, 3-, 5-, 6-, and 7-series. |

I might get a 2009 135i, or maybe even a 2010. It depends what's out at the time my dad's lease ends on his Pathfinder. My plan is to give him my current car, and get a 135i.

What is connectdrive?? Also a few have mentioned that rates will go down. That doesnt really affect people that want to buy right??? Only affects those that are leasing?

I'm waiting until 2009 for my purchase. By that time, I figure prices will be closer to invoice and there will be stock on the dealer lots as well.

Waiting until Feb 2009.
1. Better prices. 2. Maybe more manuals on the lots. 3. Improvements. 4. Finish paying off $25k in Visa debt. 65% there. 5. Save for decent downpayment. 6. See what else comes out besides BMW. 7. Make TRIPLE SURE the 135i @ $42,250 is for me. I still like the 335i alot, just TOO expensive. The 328i sport is in my budget, but slower. YUK. |

I'm holding out for a 2009 for this
especially since my 135 will be optioned to over 45K MSRP, I figured I'd wait until demand for them tapers off a bit, and inventory levels on dealer lots improve, along with their allocations. I can't see myself paying MSRP... Haven't done it with any car I've bought before, and won't be starting that bad habit now... But the real question is this: When does BMW publish the new model year pricing? Anyone know what month that usually happens? Oh and one more thing what month do they usually switch production over to the new model year? (My wife is insisting we do Euro Delivery, and would love to go late Sept/ early Oct if that's the right time frame for the switchover). Anyone have info on this? |

I read somewhere that the 2009 1ers wont be released until Q1 of 2009, so you guys who are waiting may have to wait 8-9 months. Good luck with that! I'm having a hard enough time waiting the 8 weeks for my car to get here.

Anyway I'm pretty sure I read it in a post on this site, so the information could be a total rumor. So take it with a grain of salt. Dan |

i read that for the 335, they're having an update for 09 and will have a bump in hp if you get the zhp package. 30hp is very reasonable now that the m3 is making 416hp instead of 343 like when the n54 first came out.
then again, the bump might not make it to the 335. Then there will be another reason for people to spend the extra $ on the 3er in lieu of the 1er.

I'm waiting till 09 but not by choice. I really want to be part of "Year One of 1" but i have to spend a year in Korea first and i can't have a car there. No way am i going to buy and have it sit around for a year till i get done.
