Kerscher Carbon Front Splitter

I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger and buying one of these.

Does anyone have any feedback or experience with this splitter?

I've read this thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=553129

And sent pm's to several people that have it but no response.

Does is wear well over time? Any dings, pitting, or sandblasting from the road?

Does is actually reduce the area of high pressure in front and create down force?

Or does it just look good?

Garage List
I got one during the summer, doesn't look too bad but the screw holes are towards the back and I found a lot of debris collecting in the gap which in turn would stretch it from the bumper and would no longer stay flush. Also I guess because of the weight of my cabrio it bottoms out easily. Unfortunately this winter I left it on thinking it would be ok. It basically became a plow and snow buildup ripped it off.

I have it. Been almost a year. Still looks great. They come with a dull coat. Had to have it sanded, waxed and polished up. Keep it clean and the clear coat will protect it. OH, and drive real slow across dips.

I really want a lip / splitter, but I know it would get destroyed over the first speed bump since my front end is pretty low. Too many potholes and bigass speed bumps around here. But it looks great, I say go for it if you're not dropped.

Does it mount with automotive tape as well as bolts, or is there the opportunity to add some sticky tape so the gap doesn't develop?

It sounds like this might be a summer only accessory especially in the Boston area, in which case, bolts only might be a good idea.

It bolts up very easily, but tape could also be applied. I like mine for whatever that's worth.

If I can drive it in DC with my car quite low, you can drive it in bean town. Just be smart about it. Scrapes will happen.

Found this one online. I've inquired as to whether it will fit on the M sport bumper.

I'd like to see a pic on the vehicle which i cannot find. Looks nice though.

And it was a super easy install. Drilling into the carbon is a little scary at first, but it came out great. It's a super quality piece.

Did you use 3M automotive tape as well? I'm a bit worried about an earlier post where debris got jammed in the gap and wedged it open.

No tape here. It may work, but I don't trust it. I got probably a dozen bolts holding that sucker on. If it's coming off, the bumpers coming with it.

Right. I'm thinking stock bolts, 3M automotive tape, and then more bolts strategically placed.

Awesome pictures by the way. Those pictures put me over the edge. I'm ordering mine tomorrow.

How do you think it will look with carbon black metallic paint?

It'll look great. The holes to drill are premarked and mount up to the majority of the factory holes for the bumper. You'll see when you take down the trays and whatnot. I think there was two or four that I had to drill into the bumper, but it's minor and underneath... Nothing you can see.
