Hey guys I finally received info back from HRT Hiop, gains are not that impressive. Stock the 125i (here in Australia) comes 160kw and 170Nm, with the ecu tune it is upgraded to 170kw and 285Nm torque. I have compared DMS, Powerchip and now HRT ecu tunes, DMS gives the best result. After DMS tune, 176kw and 294Nm but it is also the most expensive. BTW HRT tune is $1645 Aussie Dollar.

Eh, no. Sorry, didn't think about that
With ecu only I guess they may get the 125i up to about 185-190. Prices I don't know, but I'll drop them an email. |

So, got an answer from the guys at DS. ECU only they promise 199kw at a price of EURO1800. Procedure is then as follows: you send them your ECU, they upgrade it, and send it back to you. This means, however, that you will have to do without driving your QP for the time it takes (airfreight to Germany, updating by DS, airfreight back)
Apparently they can also provide warranty (at extra cost) on the engine and further drive train, but whether that makes sense for you down under remains to be seen. |

Wow, 199kw thats amazing but at almost $3500 AUD and not having a car and chance of warranty and damage during freight I think I will have to look at whats available here in OZ. Thanks for finding that info out POliver, appreciate it.

Hi guys sorry to revive old thread I would pm you guys but sadly they don't let new members pm. I was just wondering if any one in Australia chipped there 125i or 130i and which remap they got. I currently own 130i and looking at DMS remap but I can't believe they get almost 300hp out of the engine with the remap installed. Any thoughts much aprechiated.

I think its max. 285-290PS with just an ECU Flash.
Most Tuners talk abaout a gain about 20PS

I've attached a dyno graph of DMS tune on a 130i. I got this from a local euro car tuner.Hopefully this gives some people who are looking at remap a better idea of what gains they can achieve. From my understanding the car was standard other then DMS chip.
The actual power output is only 150kw but as u can see it greatly improves the high rpm power output. 2 grand aus is a lot to ask though. |

Did you send the chip to Germany? or is this an Aussie tuner?

Sorry for my late reply. The tune was actually done in Australia Brisbane. To my understanding the tunning company in Brisbane copied the default file off the ecu and sent it to a company called dms ( they have a website just search dms tuning). From there they adjusted the file and sent it back. Been running tune for about a month now and had no issues what so ever. I do notice the tune not liking the heat in Brisbane ATM (40c temps) but then again any car feels a little slower in those temps. The cost in my opinion was outrageous $2000 Australian but I would have had a massive markup as no one tunes 130s in australia. Even factoring in the cost I'm glad I did it. Made the n52 complete as a daily/ weekend mountain thrasher.
