CC-ID 381...

Ive been getting a "right cornering light malfunction" daily now for past 2-3 months. The headlights are working fine, and they swivel normally. Every time I start the car, this pops up, but upon turning the wheel right and left, the warning goes away.

When I go to "vehicle status" on the i-drive, it says "right cornering light malfunction", and when I enter the menu to give more information, the description reads "left cornering light malfunction"...

The warning always goes away, but its becoming annoying. I've searched for solutions and looks like people have had issues w/ aftermarket bulbs etc. I dont have any aftermarket headlights/bulbs, so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Dealer is getting the car in to take a look this thursday, but the tech said he did not see the warning come up last time it was in for service about 4 weeks ago.

Im wondering if it is a cold weather thing? and having the car inside doesnt produce a light...or maybe wiring/seal issues w the headlight unit has the car was lowered back in September 2015 (1/2 inch) and I do have some rubbing on the mounting points for the front bumper, but ONLY when I hit big pot holes etc.

Help?

I've had this light/code for two years now. I go through cycles where it annoys me and then I forget about it. The dealership told me they don't know what's wrong with it and all lights seem to be functioning normally. It comes on pretty much every time I start the car, or if I'm an on-ramp cornering at a pretty high speed.

Have you had any luck with this?

The headlights need to re-coded to the car. I just set up an appointment to do it.

That's what worked for me. I also replaced both cornering lights. Bulbs were like $10 or less I think so worth it to try that first.
