Injector compatibility

I am going to replace one on my bad injectors (#4) with a used one. My car is a 2009 with build 12/08 and injector series -07. Can I replace it with an injector that is series -06? I know I can't use the newest ones but will replacing just one in the bank with a different series cause problems?

You will have to get that injector coded to the car or it would not work.

really, the injectors have to be coded to the car? holy shit, is there anything you can do to this car without going to the dealer to have it coded? Why do injectors need to be coded to the car? What do I need to buy to code the car myself? Thanks

You should invest in the inpa cable and take a look at the DIY's, it will save you a lot of money.

Ill look at the cable. I can do almost anything mechanical myself. The programming side, Ive never had to deal with before. For every other car, you replace the part, and clear the CEL thats it. Ive tuned plenty of cars myself as well, just seems wierd to me that the car needs to be coded for the battery, injectors, and Im sure many other things.

The injectors have a specific code on them. You have to enter those codes based on what cylinder you put the injector in.

Completely the same 100%. The only pita part was removing number cylinder 6 because the of the odd angle.

Ok thanks. Problem I am running into now is that I don't have a 32bit computer and compatibility mode in windows 8 doesn't fix it.

I got INPA up and running on my car. Had to dig out my wife's old laptop running windows vista x86... Plus the post office didn't deliver my new used injectors today so looks like I'm going to have to wait until Monday.

They are here. The post office left a note on my door. I was home but they didn't knock or anything.

I put insurance on them just in case and they require a signature for it....still feel bad. I know how hard it is to get time to work on the car.
