DIY dp fix

Before anyone bashes me into a wall... I have searched this to the nth degree and still have not found an answer to my actual question...

Has anyone successfully created a dp fix and if so how did they do it... I need to pass nys inspection soon and do not want to have to take the dp's out. I know that the bms dp fix consists of a resistor/variable resistor and wires that plug into the jb4/oem ecu connectors. However I do not have access to the BMS dp fix. I have alot of experience with automotive electronics and will just do it myself if need be, but I thought I would ask first if anyone knows the size and type of resistor needed.

Someone has done it. I haven't seen the guide or anything, but I know they did it at N54 tech before.

Im not sure if this will work on BMWs (it does on everything else but BMWs are finnicky), but I have taken the rear O2 sensors (normally after the cat) out of the exhaust, leaving them plugged in, then plugged the hole in the exhaust with a O2 bung hole plug from an exhaust shop. Then you "zip tie" (safety wire, like bailing wire but better), the O2 sensor to the side of the exhaust pipe. This was done on my 96 Talon in 03 and it never threw an O2 sensor code, it was also done on cars up to 2006 for friends without issue. If it works, let me know. It might be a temporary fix until you pass smog but it should work.

Basically, the O2 sensors think the cats are extrememly clean because the sensor is reading the outside air. Here in Cali, they check for cats, though.
