Koni Sport adjustment advice

I have some new yellow Koni shocks on the way. I will be using them with the OEM sport springs on a 128i.

Any recommendations for a starting point on the adjustment for the rears?

This is for spirited daily driving.

Half-way or just a tad further to full firm.

Also, you might want to look into the firmer Monroe or Dinan upper shock mounts.

Just a thought if your car is pretty high mileage/old, and you'll be swapping out the shocks - you should look into swapping out all the old rubber bits (spring pads, lower and upper shock mounts, strut mounts at the front etc). There are kits you can buy from ECS or Turner for example that give you all the relevant bits in one package, or you can pick and choose what you want to replace. Wether you're replacing just shocks or shocks and springs....it's basically the same difference, might as well refresh the other bits.

....then you can think about upgrading your rear subframe bushings while at it, and since you need to lower/drop the rear subframe throw in some stainless steel brake lines.....and so on and so on...down the rabbit hole we go

Already replaced all of the front and rear strut and shock components about 20k miles ago and did the rear subframe bushings. I had a Bilstein B4 seal failure and decided to upgrade

Upgraded the brakes and lines too.

I have koni yellows. Had them briefly set at full firm and it was too much. Fronts at 3/4, Rears at half-way are compliant but sporty. I used the monroe rear shock mounts (p/n 907984) too, the rubber is much better than the stock foam parts.

Make the fronts as stiff as they'll go then turn the rears down to about 2/3 from full firm. Beautiful ride let me tell you

Took the group's advice and installed the Monroe mounts and have some issues. I get squeaking when rolling over larger bumps. I checked them a couple of times and made sure everything was seated correctly with no improvement. Reinstalled the oem mounts (newer and in good shape) and the noise went away.

Any idea what might be going on?

This is the first time I've heard of noise with the Monroe mounts. You might want to post the question in the E90 Suspension section as there is more traffic there.

Yeah, that's unfortunate, I didn't have any squeaking noises from the monroe mounts.

One guy mentioned his stiffer mount caused some other parts in the trunk area to make noise.

Another good option is the Dinan rear shock mounts. I've had good luck with mine

I personally haven't had issues with the Monroe's and they have been on the car for over 3 years. If they start to give problems will look into the Dinan mounts but ~$100 vs $20 is a big difference.
