^lets get some walnut pics for comparison. op's trim is just like mine. its a dark brown. i think the "light walnut" trim is lighter. So what trim is this that we have then? I mean, dark brown works well with my black leather, gives it a rich look, but I'm curious.

That pic has got to be walnut... Poplar grey is really grey, no brown at all really, from what I recall...

I saw gray poplar in the showroom...looks gray for the most part, but with certain light angles it definitely had a brown tinge. I would highly recommend looking at it in person if you are concerned.

That has to be GP. Walnut in the 1-Series pretty much has unidirectional grain. GP has more random and definitely more bold swirly black patterns (and knots). It looks brown in direct sunlight:
