Hi all -

Long-time E90 fan, I've had my 335i for eight years. Just picked up a 2013 135is with DCT. Gotta say that DCT is *bangin*. Had a blast driving her home.

Looking forward to learning the in's and out's of the E82 and the N55 platform. According to the online VIN decoder, production was 11/2012.

Welcome to the fold. I think the IS with the DCT is a great setup, especially since I own one too.

Thanks. The original dealer sticker does not mention PE or PPK - the M-Sport suspension is the only performance-related item listed in the "is" configuration package. DCT was an option.

But I believe she has both the PE and PPK - honestly sounds like a supercar.

The PE and PPK version 2 come standard on the 135is. They are added to the car at the port.

All 135s come with the same M Sport suspension.

Look around here and you will find a lot of info on the 135is.

Thanks. I probably overpaid, but once I drove it I was just like - "please take all my money".

$19.500

The car is pretty near flawless.

Unless its got a million miles that is cheap! Do a country wide search for IS on the car sites -- most are listed for ~$25k. Maybe they aren't actually going for that much, but 19.5 is certainly good.

Not a bad price for what you're getting.

I have the DCT as well and love it!

I use the paddles and put the car in sport mode.

These cars are a blast to drive!

41K miles. It was listed online for $22.900. I drove there ready to pay. But when I got there they said they'd reduced the price to $19.500. I really didn't need to drive it at that point - sold! They even put new tires all around.

I'd say that's a good deal for just 41k miles. People tend to ask krugerrands for 135is'. Less than a year ago some crackhead was asking 27 for a similar car

Wow you got an amazing deal. I'd suggest getting a few things checked out just to be safe. There's some easy-to-remedy fixes that will save you a lot of headache on the 135i's. Look for the sticky thread Ultimate 1 Series buyers guide, but for now I'd suggest checking/looking for records on...
  • Oil filter housing gasket
  • Water Pump
  • Thermostat
  • LPFP

And at 41k miles you'd be well served doing a full tuneup since it's likely not been done yet, plugs especially.

Thanks. I'm going to schedule an inspection at my local dealer. I know just by viz that the valve cover gasket needs replacement, but the front and left (driver) side of the block is super clean. OFHG no biggie, probably blast the valves since I'd have the intake off. WP/TS is a PITA though, might try taking that to 80k. Did these cars have the extended fuel pump warranty the 335's had?

VCG not as common, could be residual from something else but worth a look either way. Also the N55's do not get carbon buildup like the 54's, a few people have taken them apart and found nothing to blast, there's a thread on this with pics somewhere (N55 walnut blast or something similar).

WP/TS are bound to fail, mine went at 65k on a road trip and it was a nightmare.

No extended FP warranty or turbo warranty, that was only on 54's AFAIK.
