Accident, need input on 1M front end.
EDIT: See my new thread for the repair process (including costs), details on the accident/damage, and more: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...9#post21426399
Bonehead move today, won't go into detail yet but resulted in this: Need some input on a 1M front bumper, just the bumper not the fenders. What's it take to do the swap? Going to talk to my collision center about getting the bumper replaced with 1M just curious what else is needed underneath. For those curious on the damage to the car, I have to wait till Monday for the adjuster but for now here's what I know: To be replaced:
Other stuff:

Ilikebmxbikes posted all parts necessary.
That said, i think its bumper, fenders, headlight beackets, brake ducts, underbody shield, windshield washer tank, and fender liners. Then you'll need the fender indicators as well.

Do the Performance front bumper with Perl carbon lip.
1M bumper without the wide fenders to accommodate it sucks. P. S. Shit, man. That sucks. The car must be cursed.

OEM BMW Performance. It's the same one on the tii concept. They also have two little splitters, but I find it much better with a full front lip. A German company called Perl sells one, I think.

///M-treatment two years before there ever was a 1M... IF you want a 1M front bumper... instead of making yourself a "cloned" 1M... why not just buy one of those aftermarket 1M-look bumpers? That way you won't have to change the front fenders and wider the rear quarters and buy new wheels/brakes. ?

Wow, really hate to see this! Glad you're ok!
Be sure to check the belt & pulleys very closely, doesn't take much of an impact to have contact, and would explain you power steering and charging symptoms. Somebody just listed a virgin new 1m rep bumper for sale here, check the classifieds

accident
So what has the insurance co. had to say and what are the estimated
cost for repairs? Minor accident but I suspect this will be in the thousands to put right. Get back to us Monday after meeting with the friendly adjustor. |

Thanks for the condolences everyone. Kinda trying not to be too bummed about this but it definitely has me down.
On the flip side, I'm going to make the most of it by going with one of the aftermarket 1M replacement front bumpers. I simply can't afford the full conversion but I'm a HUGE fan of the way the bumper alone changes the look of the car, even without the fenders and rear done. I know it's not what you all are into, but I like it and that's what counts right? Lol. I do appreciate all your help and input, I'll probably be going with this bumper kit since I can't seem to find any others for sale that are similar anymore. There's a guy selling one in my area, already carbon black. Big thanks to 1and1 for pointing me to that! Going to pick it up tomorrow morning.
