Boost Questions

08 135i 61,000 miles. 6 months ago I installed Wagner Evo 1 Comp IC,
ER sports oil cooler, ER charge pipe, P3 gauge, and JB+ set at default. Recently added
Maddad mipipes but running stock down pipes. Jb+ set at default which
should add 2.75 psi to the 8.8 max stock boost for a total of around 11.5 psi. Max boost on the P3 shows 9.5 psi. Thought maybe it was the stock DV's leaking so just installed the forge DV's. Tried green springs (5-15 psi ) first then yellow (15-23 psi) with no difference. So....
Is the P3 gauge accurate or just close?
Would it be better to swap back to the green springs?
Is there another reason that it appears 2 psi less than expected.

I know there are a lot of good tunes out there but I'm happy with the JB+ modest gains.

Most common places for boost leaks are at hose fittings and connectors. Did you install the FMIC yourself? Re-check your fittings on both the hot and cold sides, check your CP > cold pipe connections. I can't speak intelligently as to why your gauge says one thing when you're expecting another from the JB. Good luck keep us posted.

I did install the FMIC but it has since been removed and reinstalled by a good Bimers mechanic when he flushed the cooling system. Right after installing the Forge DV's got a 30FF code, boost leak, rechecked all hoses and all was good. Took the DV's off and one was stuck open. When I installed them there was grease inside so I thought they were ready to install. Took both apart and cleaned/re-greased and all is good now, they weren't evenly coated when I got them. Changed back to the green springs too.
My P3 is working off a boost tap and I'm guessing that it may not be calibrated precisely. I'll send Terry at BMS a email and see what he says.
