Anyone interested in a GB for the Performance Brake Rotors?
More the merrier... Getting some pricing now, looks like $100 USD per disc...
These are the slotted/drilled puppies as seen here: |

It does look good mate. Any idea what the size is? Is it actually better for track application? I know it is 3.1 pound a corner lighter, which is not bad given it is unsrpung weight. I am potentially interested...

Size will be identical, because if theres a size change then the calipers would require new brackets.. Only difference is a lighter rotor and a better cooling rotor..
Theres a big diff in weight saving! Especially for you WAY who wants to make a CSL 135i :P |

Help me out here... what are the benefits of these brakes? That is, what difference will I notice and does the 3.1lb. weight savings transalate into improved 1/4 mile times?

In my experience drilled rotors are weaker and more prone to cracking. I've found the best option if you plan to track the car is to go for slotted only.
I wonder if these BMW performance rotors are really up for some track punishment or if they are really just for 'show'... |

spdrcr: you've never had a Porsche then
It depends on the method used to make them. Cast rotors with drill holes are perfectly fine, drilled rotors after making them are prone to issues like cracking.. That said, you'd have to be doing some real thrashing to crack a good set of BMW rotors. The M3 has them and various other M cars all with much success If only for the weight saving, these are fantastic. 3.1lb per corner is BIG |

Jeff, alot more. Alum rotor hats and drilled discs is better again.. these rotors look semi-two piece, not sure if you can see the studs?
This, combined with a light weight wheel setup would be great! |

WAY, I highly doubt it will suit heavy track abuse like what you're talking about. You're best with a proper 2 piece, lightwheel setup from someone like AP, Wilwood or Porsche.
