I'm in Toronto; 18 years old; driving for past two years with no tickets/accidents. Currently drive my parents' X5 and TL as occasional driver for $55 per month. I called their insurance company today to find out how much I'll have to pay for my 128i Coupe when I get it next year, and obviously I'm going to have to become primary driver on it, and I'd be paying $255 per month. I'll be going to university about 2 hours away from home, so my car will be left in Toronto except for weekends/holidays. As a college student away from home, the insurance comes down to $108 monthly!!! For a 18-year old! Couldn't believe my ears.

Edit: Deductible is either 500 or 1000 (forget exactly) with 2 mill.

I'm from New Zealand, and have been in Canada two years, insurance completely blew us away when we got here. I had a new $35k Mitsubishi 3litre Sedan there, and insurance was $340 per year. Here I am paying $1800 for 323i, I have 10 years no accidents. It's outrageous !!!

not actually paying for the insurance yet (car still not here )

i'm a UoC alum, insured since 16, almost 10 yrs now (few weeks off), 1 accident 5 yrs ago, 1 ticket last 3 yrs

I was quoted by TD $1311/yr, 1m, $1k deduct

Allstate quoted me for $1550/yr (approx) but will reduce it by $300 6months later if i travel less than 6000km. I was surprised since they are the ones i've been insured for the last 10 yrs.

wow i hate you all, i've gotten 4 quotes,

i had 1 accident in Feb 05, and one speeding ticket in July 05...

fuckers charge me from 344 / month, to 386/month, with the other two quotes going in the middle..

anyone else with accidents here get some better rates?

i got a quote for 309/month after I hit 25 next year july..

ps. my accident wasn't at fault, it was 50/50
:mad0 260:

the car is going to be insured only in the summer, so its say 386/month for 6 months, after that its 20 bucks, so that helps, but jesus

I pay $1948 per annum for 2 cars (2005 Saab & 2008 BMW 128i cabrio).
That includes $2M liability on each car, $500 deductible on all perils/comprehensive.
