Not necessarily an N54, but a twin turbo inline six.

WOW, X5 M and X6 M instead of M3 CSL. And then BIG SURPRISES: M3 GTS, M1 and even M1 CSL.

But there is still something missing: M10!

As in Porsche? BMW M3 GTS? Regardless, the first one is in another league as far as price and performance and the later isn't available in the US. So, no, they're going to be pissed.

Oh yeah, it's all coming back... you're one of them! I remember now. Get over it, it's the direction BMW is going, and in part because of new fuel standards. Start loving turbos or start shopping other makes. All cheekiness aside here, love your M3 CSL forever and never let it go.

That CSL only goes if the bmw ///M makes a new high rev 6 cil in a one series as long if that does not happen the CSL stays it proberly stays forever or it will eventually replaced by a GT3 clubsport if the turbo train does not stop

Don't count on it stopping unless new technologies can drastically improve the mileage of powerful, high-rev NA engines.

Well this is certainly going to complicate things. I had always planned on keeping my 135 no matter what new car I get after it. But damn it I really want this car and I'll have a hard time justifying keeping the 135 and getting this. At this point the only reason I wouldn't jump on this is the fact that I've put so much into mods on my 135 that I would hate to sell it.

Ugh, at least I have some time before I have to make up my mind on this one.

This thing is going to be extremely tempting, but if Ford comes out with a Boss 302 and it's sub 3,400 lbs, I think it's going to be a better (and cheaper) move to make.

It will have more power than the standard car similar to the way the M3 GTS has an extended power output over the standard M3.

Due to the cost of federalization it is highly unlikely the Extended vehicle option will be available in all markets as it does not justify clarification for the ltd series of production.

Purely as it is JOY is indulgence is a visual concept information relating to the debate of whats underneath the bonnet etc will be given at a later date when the production car is introduced later this year.
Additional cosmetic features for the engine bay will also be discussed later, no additional performance upgrades as the M1 will still sit under the M3 in terms of size and performance.

Although a competition pack has been introduced for the M3 it is ineveitable that by 2012 2 years before the current car is replaced that a "Phase II" CS package will be available for the M3. Both M1 and the outgoing M3 will help phase in their respective replacements with the M1 resorting to four cylinders with the M3 inheriting an upgraded version of the engine that will be found in the (E82) M1.
To me the most important part of this post is the last sentance. An upgraded version of the M1 engine means there will be plenty of extra power to be had hiding in the essentially 'detuned M1.'

I also was one that said they would keep their 135 forever, but if my deployment schedule works out to where I can order this car while deployed, it may make good financial sense to buy an M1 while deployed. Especially if I can get it at near 135 prices with the discount. Time will tell, but this is shaping up nicely for me.

Let's face it, the N54 is a detuned 400hp engine.

True as this may be, maybe the M1's engine will have 475-500 hidden ponies?

More importantly, will M1 owners be able to get the 'upgrades' that the future m3 will have?

Anyone have tips on selling a car?
