E9x M3 Diff retrofit on E88 vert?

I have an E88 135i vert that I want to install an E9x 3.85 M3 LSD on, however the bracing under the rear subframe is quite different to the E82, so I think it might be more difficult.

Has anyone on here installed/retrofitted the M3 LSD onto a E88? If so, did you have to make modifications to the bracing to get it to work?

You would need the entire subframe. Not worth it IMHO. Just get a proper diff designed for your car.

I have done the M3 diff on my own car (with stock subframe)

Definitely wouldnt fit the E93 with all the bracing in the way near the diff. Have you got a picture of the bracing of the E88? I've never worked on an E88

I think the bracing would definitely require modification to fit the diff, but I have the diff. drive shaft and half shafts in the garage so keen to get it to work.

Actually, having a look at the E93 M3 rear brace parts, and they look the same as the 335i, so possibly would fit just very tight.

Would need to have a look at the clearance between your E88 brace and the diff cover

These pictures give an idea of where the diff cover is bulky

I think it could probably be done, but may just need a custom brace. The design of the brace is quite simple, and probably would not be that difficult to get a custom one made up.

was the M3 diff straight plug and play into your e82? Used M3 diffs are actually somewhat affordable.

Looking to see what the best route is for a good diff and hopefully subframe too in an E88 as well.

Besides, did we not already get all the extra under chassis stiffening that screams for these extra rigid and grippy additions?!?!

All the info is in here
https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...php?p=21473478

M3 diff and axles are plug and play, but the propshaft isn't (unless you have an N55 engine, in which case a 1M propshaft is PNP)

Won't work well in your car cos you have DCT and none of the M3 diff ratios match your car
