TPMS Inactive after New Wheels/tires/sensors

Car is a 2011 128i and had been running the stock wheels. I just put new wheels, tires, and new sensors (from FCP Euro, HUF-RDE012V21) and am getting the TPMS Inactive warning. I tried the reset/relearn procedure using the B/C button but it just tells me that the system is inactive. I used my scanner to reset the codes and it then told me that the system was active again but after driving a short distance, I got the Inactive warning again.

I thought these sensors were pre-programmed and would be plug-and-play but, apparently, not so much. I have a Schwaben/Foxwell scanner and also Carly but am not knowledgeable about or experienced with the various apps (ISTA, INPA, etc. - I lose track of all the acronym names of these apps) so suggestions to "just code it with (insert name of app here)" are not really helpful. I need more basic help than that.

I've been poking around the Interwebs trying to figure this out but not getting much. I see references to "activating" the new sensors rather than "programming" them but never clear how to do this. Any helpful wisdom out there?

Kind of sounds like the wrong sensors. Maybe the shipped the wrong ones, or maybe your car build date was just on the early side of the change?

Hmm, you may be correct. While the FCP site offers no help, I found another seller that says 2011s built through 8/10 (mine was built 6/10) use one model (RDE008) while those from 9/10 use another - RDE012, which is what I got from FCP. And when I search FCP for RDE008, it comes up for 2010 models through 8/10. But, of course, I didn't search for that one since their site said the RDE012 was a fit for my car. Great - they are now installed on the car and getting this all sorted is going to be a hassle. Such a PITA!
