Coilovers Question - Dinan vs. Adjustable plates edition
I've got the chance to grab my coilovers and I'm stuck between two options (I'm not opting for KW, TCKline, ST, etc, feel free to move on if this is your suggestion)
Option 1: Tried and true BC BR Racing Coilovers. They're on everything, they are good enough to autoX on and would be fine for 1-3 track days a year. Cons - long term durability and I have no clue how to deal with making camber adj. I fiddle with things, so this puts me off as I would probably adjust myself into an issue... Option 2: Go with Dinan fixed camber plates and the ISC V2 basic kit, which is the same as the N1 kit but with out the camber plates. Cons - I've got no experience with ISC but they're based out of New England and that seems like it's close enough should I need to warranty or rebuild them. I imagine they are similar to other ~$1000 Taiwanese coilover kits (BC included). TLDR: adjustable or fixed camber plates. Which is better, easier, less finicky, etc... Cheers, Ultimate goal if it matters: Having more fun at speed in corners on the street. Eventually autoX and 1-3 track days a year. |

Dinan are nice because they are set it and forget it and they adapt on to the stock top mount, so there really isn't any increase in NVH.
Adjustable are nice because you can usually get more negative than you would from dinan plates and, if something is tweaked on your car, you can use the adjustment to make sure each side is even. When I bought my car it had dinan plates on it with koni yellows and it was a fun setup for sure. If you get serious about autox/track you'll want more camber for grip and to prolong tire life.

I installed Dinan plates and they worked well. Ended up removing them because with my coilovers and tires there was no need to run more negative camber. I think it's around -1.4 deg now using the stock slots.

I suppose I should update this thread. I ended up going with Bilstein coilovers and Dinan plates. It's been great to me so far. That being said, I think the BC or ISC kit is just fine too as I've since met some other folks who are running them and are happy with their setups. YMMV.
