128 m sport vs 128i with M Sport Suspension

Looking at a mint 2009 BMW 128i that has the optional m sport suspension. Really holding out for an m sport car but this may be the only chance I have for 80% of what I want right now.

Car has manual sport seats too which is cool. What am I missing if I go with the car over the m sport besides the cosmetic differences?

Any help is much appreciated!

What you've found is likely a "Sports Package" model. Major differences you are missing are the steering wheel, black headliner, wheels, and front and rear bumpers. You're missing other stuff by it not being an LCI version, too, but that has little to do with M-sport.

You can always buy what you've found and keep looking for an M-sport. I'm assuming it's a stick? They don't seem to be depreciating. At the most you'd lose the tax you pay.

Driver of a 2010 128i 6MT with Sport Package. You aren't missing out on anything performance-wise, just cosmetics.

IMO, makes it a little more of a q-ship as it doesn't look as racy/sporty as the M Sport version.

(FWIW, my Sport Package came with Shadowline trim)

I’m in the looking stage too and good to hear that there are good option beyond holding out for the M-sport version. Waiting till the winter is over before buying mode kicks in.

You can figure out how to transport it and where to store it 'till spring later.

Yes, if a good opportunity presents itself, I am prepared to pull the trigger.

Do cars with the M-Sport suspension also have revised speed limiters? The M-Sport models do, but this is pretty easy to code out. You'll just need a few extra bucks for a dongle and coding app (not entirely necessary, but easier).

Per the ordering guide that came with my 128i, the ZSP Sports Package has the same 840 Increased top speed limiter option included as the ZMP M Sport Package does, so no coding required.

Hi. I have a 2009 128i with sport package and a broken front spring. I am thinking or replacing all 4 springs with an H&R set. Anyone know which of the 3 sets would be equivalent to the original sport package ?
Sport Spring Kit -1.8''F 1.2''R
Super Sport Spring Kit -2.2''F 1.6''R
OE Sport Spring -1'' F 0.75''R

OE seems to say Original Equipment.
The car has been parked for 2 years so it's time I fix it.

Thank you

Xavier

Here's a thread with BMW published ride heights for the sport and M performance spring options.
https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...4#post17795834

Of those three H&R options, the "OE sport spring" comes closest to matching the M performance spring ride heights which were 25mm (1") lower than stock.

Sport springs were only 15mm (0.6") lower than stock.
