Thoughts on intakes!!

Ok so i had a bms reg 100 used intake on my 135i prev..
Made the woosh woosh noise but i dont think it was much on the perf end..
What are your thoughts on the intakes that are out there??
Do you believe keeping the lid is key??
Want perf over pretty..

ALSO, HAVING TROUBLE LOCATING A 135IS BLACK EMBLEM FOR THE REAR.. SOMEONE ONCE MENTIONED BUYING THE 335IS OR ANOTHER EMBLEM TO PEICE TOGETHER THE 135I-AND ADDIGN THE S FROM THE 335..

As far as I've read up on it an intake is more for looks or sound than performance. Negligible HP gain.

Wouldn't waste money changing intakes if you already have one. Intercooler will be your much better bang for buck on the intake side of things

I think the consensus was that instake systems are great noise makers, but don't offer a significant performance game. As others have posted, there are better ways to spend money. (for performance)

But there's nothing wrong with spending cash on things that make you happy. Get that wooshing sound!

That's all I did when I was picking parts for my car. A did a drop in K&N filter.

All intakes on the 135i make very little difference.

If you want an actual boost in performance the only thing on the cold side is the turbo inlet which stock is about a 1.5" diameter pipe. Replace that and you'll see some pretty immense gains in fun noises and throttle response.

All other intakes will just give you more induction noise, temps don't matter much pre-intercooler and the stock airbox flows just fine.

Why not buy a separete chrome logo and paint? Black is one of the hardest colors to mess up in my mind.

Though he does respond, it can take awhile. I know others have gotten parts from him and I am awaiting a tracking number. And your characterization may likely be correct.
