N52 servicing
Hi, I'm planning a major refresh/overhaul on my 2013 125i (N52B30 6MT) and was wondering what things should be on my radar at 53k miles? (Not just engine but also considering chassis parts)
I've heard drive belts can be tricky on N5x engines as well as general bushes and rust on the abs rings however I fitted new axles and sensors recently after getting the common abs fault so I just wanted to get ahead on any other surprises. Thanks in advance for any help and advice. |

There's lots of preventative maintenance you could do... just really depends how much DIY work you wanna do and how much money/time you wanna spend.
Check for any oil leaks from oil filter housing, valve cover, and oil pan. Replace if needed. Without knowing the full maintenance history I would go ahead and flush coolant, transmission fluid, diff fluid, and do an oil change. New belt and tensioner. Brake fluid flush if you didn't while fixing ABS stuff. While doing all that just take mental notes of general condition of other parts, hoses, etc. Water pump / thermostat might be worth it based on age. Engine and transmission mounts in that same vein. |

Rear subframe bushings should be on that list. They made a huge difference. I did them after I added camber plates and coilovers and they really tied everything together. No matter your mileage, the cars are all 10+ years old by now. Rubber and plastics need to be swapped out.
