That sucks man sorry to hear about your vinyl supply, all that hard work!! I love the color, you should call some suppliers directly and see if anyone can match it.

I've thought about that, but in the long run if I need to replace sections of the vinyl in a year or so would be a nightmare. So I'm going to go with something more readily available. Samples should be here in a day or two.

Radiator showed up today. Unfortunately the bottom tab was bent pretty bad from shipping... but luckily its aluminum so I was able to correct it easily and made sure the duct work fit properly.

Next up wheels. Something wrapped in PS4S

Lots of work ahead of you, looks like a great project! Where did you source the chrome double slat grills? I've only seen all black ones for sale.

Yup! It will be fun tho! It's not going to overnight since I'm putting myself on a budget each month.

You can separate the slates from the ring on all kidneys. So I took my stock chrome ring and put the double slates in for a more factory look.

Gotcha, great to know they're interchangeable! Aftermarket ones I've had on e36s over the years did not mix and match with the OEM pieces.

So I'm back to the drawing board on paint/vinyl. Going to order some samples tonight and see where that leads me. Hoping to find something similar to Arlon's Thundercloud. Otherwise I may just get the pieces painted and leave it BSM for a while.

Don't know if you have found another vinyl yet but I noticed Fellers.com has Arlon Thundercloud in stock in the discount section, does not say how much they have though.

says $385 for a 60" by 25yd roll

Not much of an update being so far away from the garage lately.
But did get a bigger sheet to test out the new color. Its close to what I had, just no light blue hue.

No, I tried a few samples of 3M and Avery, and the clarity just isn't there like the Arlon material had. So I'm going to be painting the new body panels BSM so I can get this build back on track and it doesn't hurt since I still love BSM.

Small update here: while waiting in line to get in the paint shop I discovered some old BSM I have. Got curious and painted a small section, wet sanded, and buffed.

More paint on the way. Let the DIY continue...

Yes rattle cans from Automotive Touchup. Direct match. From past experiences, using guns is only useful when painting large areas and multiple body panels, so rattles work in my situation.

I sprayed one fender this weekend. This is a few hours after. Still curing and then it'll get buffed to a shine sometime this week.

Does it offer UV protection? Would you recommend it for me coating my CF hood? I'd really like to do a coat of clear on it but have never done something so large

It does. Spraying a hood may be difficult because it so big. You may need a proper gun to do it right, but any things possible with the right planing.

Been busy with work and life. Maybe I'll get this done by next winter.

Made time today to wet sand and buff one fender.
