I just switched from Black leatherette to Terracotta Boston leather. Just make sure you tell your salesperson it's a Priorty 1 option. Some may not be aware and say they can't get it.

Priority 1 means the car is an ordered car. A sold car to a customer. Those cars are listed as Priority 1 which means that they are built before dealer inventory cars are.

They are special options only for people that know about them.....They're kept secret from the general public.
I believe that right now the only two are "Terra" and "Lemon" colors for the leather. And to avoid confusion.....it's Terra not Terracotta. Terracotta is a different color that is not offered for the E82s

So it looks like the mistake was actually when they printed Terra instead of Terracotta on some of the literature, which is what caused all the confusion. |

Yes. But Priority One options are options that can only be configured on a customer car, not dealer stock. Any individual can order these options, but the dealers can't designate a car as Priority One unless it's already sold. It lowers the volume on these options because no one can walk onto a lot and buy one. |

The 3-series brochure lists: LCB8 as Terra Leather
My Vehicle Inquiry report (for my 135i order) lists LWB8 Terracotta Boston Leather For what it's worth... Also, I've seen the "Terra" on the 3 series and I don't like it at all. Terracotta looks different to me. Can anyone confirm? |

Okay.. The definitive Terra/Terracotta word. Everywhere else in the world other than North America, LWB8 = Terra Leather. For some whacky typo that they're living with, in North America, in the ordering system it is called "LWB8 - Terracotta". The 3 series Terra and the 1 series Terracotta are the IDENTICAL color. I just got rid of my Terra equipped 330i, and it's the exact same color as my 1 series interior. My guess is that the BMW Internal ordering system (as well as the old 1 series ordering guide) were misprinted with Terracotta, and since it's a priority 1 option - not on their website- they decided to not bother fixing it. The further confuse things, there is a totally different interior called Terracotta that was available on the X3 for a few years that was near orange, with a bit of pumpkin thrown in. It was nothing like the LWB8 color, other than it was another earthtone on opposite ends of the spectrum. |
