N55 dyno W/ JB3 + Injen Intake
Hey all,
Just had my car dynoed today, and I wanted to see if anyone can provide any input on this. I had a mustang dyno test done with powerdyne, and I know the different dyno machines give different results and I heard dynotech gives higher numbers. I posted both a video and my dyno results.. what do you guys think. I was surprised at the 299 results. I was expecting higher, but maybe this is what it should be. I haven't had the n55 software update done yet, so maybe that would help out, but I was alittle disappointed. Help me please. http://s1139.photobucket.com/albums/...=VIDEO0073.mp4 Thanks everyone |

I didn't look at the chart but im not really surprised. I put down 303 rwhp 335rwtq with just jb3.. Mustang dynos read low.. and I doubt the intake is doing much..

300rw on a mustang dyno sounds about right for a stage1 on default settings. It does around 315rw on a dynojet. With the new DME software and +4-5psi settings you can probably do another 15-20hp. Also keep in mind N55 intakes add zero power so don't expect anything from it power wise.

Mustangs are the lowest reading dynos, 300whp on a mustang is quite a bit, I wouldn't worry.
Does the car feel fast? That's all that matters, not the numbers. |

yeah, that is closer to 1 to 1 but wanted to be consistent as i did a few other modded pulls on 4th. also, the numbers would've been over-inflated on a mustang on 5th for a stock car. my stock 335i e92 step did 255whp on the same dyno.

I was basically saying that the JB3 is most likely not the cause for lower power...JB3's usually come in at at least 310whp. My guess is that your numbers are low due to the intake.

Above comment basically states that injen intake gave me negative power.. that makes no sense.. I feel more power daily driving with injen intake.

Actually that makes complete sense...most intakes are less efficient than the stock air intake.

...esp with the new DME update, it makes most intakes defunct as Terry has actually lost power on the dyno with his n55 and open intake testing. also, frankie reported gains on his injen, initially, and then got the DME update and made no extra power on it at all. go figure.

I'm basing my statement off of daily driving pre injen intake and post.. I feel like my car doesn't die at higher rpms like it did stock and even after jb3.

I just installed Injen intake yesterday, and the car definitely feels more powerful and has better throttle response... not sure what you guys are talking about.

I remember putting an intake on one of my old cars and was convinced that it made more power as I could feel it pulling stronger at the top end of the revs. When in fact what it had done was lost power low down and the pull I was getting top end was the power I origianlly had without the intake..
Bum dynos aren't always accurate.. |
