reminds me a little of the audi system, which has gotten good reviews. One thing I like which appears to be possible now, is have a full screen nav, where before you could only do split screen. Outside of that, I have to reserve judgement until I use it. I like the current i-drive, so I'm looking forward to (possibly) an even better system

Sorry, I should have been more explicit. USA, getting these idrive options on the 135 MY 2009 or MY 2010?

Thanks!

Cool, Thanks, but what's your gut? My car just landed at the dealer, if those options are avail 2009, I want to decline delivery and wait!

shipping and destination charge

If I pre-order my vehicle for 2009 128i so that it gets shipped along with the dealer's 2009 inventory, am I still expected to pay shipping and destination?

Hi dbtheo

I want to find out if style 162(fr.335i sport pkg) wheels would fit on the 135i.

IANAD, but my understanding of the shipping and destination charge is that you pay it on any vehicle, whether it was specially ordered for you or whether the dealer ordered it as lot inventory. They sell those cars eventually, and the buyers pay the charge.

well, bmw has always left certain features off idrive for "lower" end series. I would suspect the same would be true now, but I don't want to guess as to which ones

even if you bought out of general inventory, you will still pay it. It is part of the msrp

So a good guess would be about a $1,000 increase. OH WELL, I will just save 2 more weeks. I am saving almost $500 a week for another 8 months.

I've tried twice to deal with Schaeffer BMW in Wilmington and they've always been terrible...no return calls, hard nosed on sale price, etc. Last bought 2004 M3 coupe and had to deal with Hendrick in Hickory, NC...how does a dealer ignore a $63,000 sale?
Any advice from a professional? Thanks!

I recently test drove the 135i and 128i at Rally BMW (Old Westbuy,NY) and fell in love with the 135i. I want to lease the car. I want to put down $5000 and be somewhere in the $425-450 range. As I was speaking with the salesman, he said "If that's what you want, you should wait till mid October. The rates should go down for the 135i around that time. Because right now, (he looked in his book), you would be in the $475 range for 2 years - 10k. The rates for the 128i are around 1.6% and the 135i is around 2.7%. It's high right now because it's a first year production."

*Is that true? - and when should I purchase my car?*

I don't know how seriously he took me since I'm 25 (I look 19) and didn't really have a check in hand. I felt like the salesman was just going through the motions and not working with me. Rally dealerships are sorta high end. People on Long Island buy cars from them just to have the lil Rally Dealership badge on the back of their car.

the company i work for "checkered flag" will do you good, there in Virginia beach VA, they have a website if your interested in checking them out, i'm no sales man i'm a tech so by me telling you to check it out i'm not gaining anything especially as i work for toyota, they just expanded the BMW building to 40-50 bays and have won year after year awards for customer service and excellance, here the link http://www.checkeredflag.com/index.htm

Concerned my 135i deal will fall through

Here are the facts:

I went back and forth over email with my CA and he agreed to sell the car to me at a certain price over invoice. However we did not have time to get an "Out-the-door-price", but agreed it would be a certain price over invoice.

I placed the order over the phone and he asked for my credit card deposit. He has the list of options I wanted from the emails.
He never charged my card but I realize this is not a big deal.

It gets into the system and I get a production number days later.
I'm still anxious at this point because I do not know "exactly" what I will be paying for.

I meet him in person two weeks later just to solidify the deal further and in hopes to get an actual price of some sort in writing. He informs me that it will be BMWs invoice from the factory. He was very nonchalantly about this and wasn't deceptive. He did however gave me my order print out with my name, production number and my options, though I did not get a price on paper.

I have been tracking "my" car for the last couple of weeks. It should be at the dealer within the next two weeks.

- Is there anything I should be worried about that risks the deal falling through?

- Can I trust that his invoice price will match my research?

- Price over invoice, does that mean invoice price of each of the options as well? This is my assumption.

any advice greatly appreciated.

I need some more info than this. Pm specifics to me, msrp of the car, tax % miles etc etc
