You never know now. If the gas prices keep going up the way they are, a lot people will look for other means of transportation.
This morning I heard people at work talking about buying a motorcycle for the summer
It sure got me thinking . I haven't riden a bike in maybe 20 years, I don't know if it's a good thing for me to buy one
People will just endure the gas prices and reduce spending in other places. Culturally there is no confidence in EV's and our electrical grid couldn't withstand the impact of everybody driving an EV anyway. It can't even withstand all of us running AC in the summer at the same time (…hence the constant rolling blackouts). During the last real gas increase, Ford still sold nearly a million F-150's.

Oh, and your average motorcycle tank is 3-4 gallons on a typical bike. It used to take $10-12 to fill up a tank. Now it's easily $17-20. Ridiculous! If my motorcycle wasn't a track/canyon toy, I didn't wear full one-piece leather Dainese suits all of the time, and I didn't have to lug police equipment during my work week, I would ride my bike. The Corolla is great on gas though.

True. And it's like you said, the majority of the people can't afford to buy an EV.
But if they could, I'm sure we would see a lot more of them on the road.

I have an 80 litre (17.6 US gallon) tank on mine and I fill it when it gets down to a quarter tank, so it's not that bad and more money off with my money off supermarket loyalty points.

Indeed! People were calling the Prius the ICE killer back in the early 2000's, but it failed to kill anything. Now people think 100k Tesla's are going to do it?!? Nope! The only way it would happen is if the U.S. implemented nationwide ICE bans, forced EV's down our throats like some EU countries, etc…..and that's just not realistic for this country and our continuously/rapidly increasing population. Imagine every car being an EV in a gridlocked, bumper to bumper traffic scenario with those batteries rapidly discharging and not enough charging stations. Uhhhhh, not going to happen.

Funny, there's an unlocked charger where I work, and I have never used it once! It was installed for the general purpose EV in the vehicle pool, but the manager of the vehicle pool told me that I could use it any time.

Last year, I offered our department's VP a ride across the grounds in my i3. He asked if I was using the charger for my car, and was shocked when I said no. It was costing me 52 cents/day to charge my car at home, and it seems so *dirty* to "steal" even that small amount of electricity from my not-for-profit employer.....

I don't have proof but I'm willing to bet no one else but you would feel *dirty* about charging up at the workplace.

We have two gas pumps at the station. I wish I could fill up the Corolla there every week.

The world is ending when all new hires are men in skirts. This new Southwest Airlines hire looks eerily like Joe Biden's recent hire. Sigh! Men have forgotten how to be men.
