depends on what you are looking for really, if you loves performance and wants great handling, go for the 135i and if you are just for a daily car go for 128i.. i have drove both and both are great cars it really depends if you care alot about performance. The 135 do handle alot better compare to 128i or my 335 and the power is great too!...
just remember no matter which one you buy get SPORT PACKAGE! it is a must IMO.. the sport seats alone is worth it

The important part is to make sure the decision you make, you stick to with no regrets. I would have regretted getting a 135i I think, I would always have felt I spent money on horsepower I can't use. To be honest, I hate that I can't really open out the 128 without fear of having some police officer drive my car to the impound for me.

As you said, you're not sure you need the extra HP, and that's a pretty good reason to lean toward the 128. The only caveat I have found is being on this forum where you feel a little bit like the second cousin ... not so out there in the car !!

I've got a 135i myself and in truth getting a 128i wouldn't have been much of a difference really. (if you have the 128i sport pack). It is only at the limit do you ever really notice the difference (i borrowed a 128i to try as well)

At times you may even find the 135i too powerful for a daily drive. Especially when it gets jsut a tad bit wet, your traction control kicks in right away.

Honestly when it comes down to it, the difference between the 128 and 135 is bragging rights. You'll never really get to push either to the limit in Canada. (unless you go on track)

For me I went with the 135 because i liked the front bumper better.

It all depends on how you intend on using the car. If your daily drive is in traffic or driving straight and slow on a highway, it's hard to justify the extra $6k for the 135i (before taxes) for performance you may rarely use. On the other hand, the 135i is one kick-ass machine!

Personally, I went for the 128i and have absolutely no regrets. The car handles and rides very well and that sweet six is a joy to wind up. When you consider the conditions of the roads these days, the severity of speeding fines and the rarity of stretches of roads where you can really have fun, the 135i doesn't seem very logical.

But then again, sometimes buying a car has nothing to do with logic!

Whatever you choose, I'm sure you will not be disappointed. :roundel:

You can always buy the 135 bumper and put it on the 128. Or even the performance bumper.
